The day began with me losing my passport. Not the greatest thing when you have to catch a train at 5:30 in the morning, although I was still able to get on I was lucky. We were headed to Brinton Carpet's for the day which I was really excited for. A lot of interior design students do their internships for this company and they have come out to talk to us in seminar so it was great to see it for real. We got to go through four different sections while we were there. We started out walking through the factory and seeing how they make each carpet. We got to see where they dyed each yarn for what color they wanted to where a lady would go through an entire carpet and pick out the mistakes to re-sow them in. I thought it was interesting how they did everything, I still don't know how they make so much with the patterns so perfect. We moved on into a seminar with the head of the designers where he talked about different projects they had been apart of. Then we went into the archives where all their patterns are housed. They had so many patterns dating back so far that they still use frequently today if the time period fits. I love when they can take something that was made forever ago and reuse it today for ideas. They had a lot of japenese prints that were like carved out of leather and were so intricite. It is so cool how they were able to do these patterns with not that many resources like we have today. The last stop was the designers where they talked about color match and different projects they were doing. They move so fast on their computers, the guy showed us a huge carpet they had been working on for a year for a hotel. It was really awesome to be able to go and see how they work each part of the company. They were nice enough to even feed us lunch for the day which was wonderful. Despite the rolls that looks like apple pie and instead had a thick slice of sausage ha sick.I will never get used to entering a bus on the left side. I will never get used to why they drive this wayThanks to Brinton's for the free complimentary flash drive haAs you can tell we are pretty worn out by this point, it was too funny not to capture this momentI want to know how that is comfortable
This is what happens when you have zero pictures for the day
