July 14th- Fireworks off the Eiffel Tower ,Couldn't Imagine Anything Better

Today we started off with the Paris Opera House, which in fact is amazing inside. It is so pretty, I loved being able to walk inside and see where they watch the operas. There was a room that was filled with gold and had porches overlooking parts of the city it was so beautiful. I love the ornate detail they put inside these places, I can't imagine how long they take to complete. I love the Phantom of the Opera, so it was cool to see where they filmed some of it or at least I think they did.The rest of the day was filled with a shopping and a nap leading up to the excitement of the big night to come. The Eiffel Tower was going to have fireworks and concerts all around. There were millions of people outside, it was packed like New York is at New Year's Eve. I was so scared I was going to get pick pocketed or at least taken because we are naive Americans. We decided that if anyone tried to talk to us we just wouldn't, and we were from Canada ha. We were able to find a good view of the Eiffel Tower across the river of what we felt like wouldn't be as crowded, what we didn't know was that on the grass right in front of it there was a whole other show that we missed out on. The fireworks made the night for me though. Not being home for the 4th of July was kinda sad, but that can't compare to this greatness. Although, there was so many people we were smashed up against everyone it was a pleasant time during the show. The worst part came when it was over, we definitely had to do the buddy system and link arms as the five of us tried to find a metro back home. Good thing we had Brady with us, or I don't think we would have gotten away so easy from the French men. They definitely aren't afraid to say what they are thinking and laying it out on the line. I have never been groped so much by strangers in my life. There were so many people pushing to get home, there was one guy that was bloody on a stretcher that got beat up. The metro was absolutely crazy, when you see peoples faces against the glass inside the train that is when you know there are too many people. In order to get out at our stop we had to slam everyone to move. Ashley and me were also being hit on by a man who was drinking inside the metro and kept asking us to go dancing, all we could do is act like we didn't understand. Thankfully as we got closer and closer to our faces Brady came over and boxed him out of the way. Lets just say it was a very fun night, despite the violence, groping, and people. The fireworks made up for anything scary we saw.
