July 13th- Arrival into Paris has come

This morning we arrived in the beautiful city of Paris. After what was not a great night of rest, the hotel right off the Eiffel Tower has made my day. It is so close to us, it is weird being able to walk a couple blocks down and sit on the grass in front of it, which is what we did. We went and got a sandwich at this excellent pastry shop I loved every minute of eating it. I also got to enjoy eating an éclair filled with chocolate pudding while sitting a few feet from a very important structure. Although we did have to sketch and show everyone what we did, it was a pretty good time being in front of it. They are setting up for concerts all around because tomorrow is Bastille Day, so we weren’t able to get way close. After our first experience in Paris seeing the most famous and well known structure we were able to finally do our laundry. It was been awhile, especially with rained on clothes it doesn’t help what they should smell like. The only problem was that when we got there the directions were in French which is no surprise since we are in France. Luckily, the nice man next door working in the bar also worked there and was able helped us out. He thought we were from California and didn’t understand what Utah was ha. He wanted us to come behind the bar and take a picture because he thought it would be worth having. Thus we made our way into the bar and smiled for him, I honestly couldn’t understand what he was saying half the time.Later that night we went on a boat tour to see some of the major sites at night. Despite getting bit by mosquitoes every ten minutes, it was a good time to be able to get out at night. Also on the way over we stopped and saw Norte Dome, which was awesome. I used to love the movie when I was little, so it is so much better being able to see it in real life. Overall it was a good first day in Paris. Very different from the others, but I do think it is pretty here. I’m excited for things to come here it will be a good week. I have also newly discovered the drink Orangina, it is great like a creamsicle carbonated drink!
